Wheels Day 2019 and an Early Emergency!

Wheels Day 2019 and an Early Emergency!

The annual opening to my car show season has come around very quickly this year.  The annual Wheels Day show at Rushmoor Arena in Aldershot was greeted with a wonderful sunny summer like day. The trip across in the Model A began with a bit of an emergency when the horn started to sound all on it’s own, and started to smoke indicating a short circuit in the horn or switch. So after pulling over and applying the electrical kill switch,  the only real option to allow us to continue on our journey was to cut and tape the wires. The root cause is to be determined, hopefully the horn isn’t literally toast!

I think this was the best out of cars I’ve seen as Wheels Day for some time, this must be very gratifying for the organisers (Surrey Street Rodders) after last years waterlogged show field. All proceeds from the Wheels Day go to charity.

As usual with Wheels Day, there was a good turn out of American cars. All together a good day out with the exception of the fiery horn 🙂

Sparton Horn Screen Fix

Been having an issue with the horn screen on the Sport Coupe’s Sparton horn screen.

Cleaned out the screen groove with my Dremel, applied some paint, interference fitted the screen and then gave the area a final coat of paint.

So far so good, it hasn’t fallen out so far!
