New Rims for the S10 Xtreme

Advertisements

I have never liked the rims that were on my S10 Xtreme when I bought it. The main worry was the offset of the wheels needing large wheel spacers. Just getting the wheel stud extensions off the original wheel studs was a challenge in itself. I think the Silver Rallye Wheels look a lot better. I have some baby moon caps to fit but they are a bit of a loose fit and will need adjustment

Spec is as follows :
15×8 Silver Rallye and 235/60×15 Galaxy RWL on the front

15×10 Silver Rallye and 275/60×15 Galaxy RWL on the rear

I wanted to have as much wheel and tyre as possible without spacers.

Thanks to North Hants Tyres

Carburetor Update

B Carb Copper to Fibre Washers

After my previous woes with the carburettor and refitting the cracked item for the time being I still had the slight fuel leak from the fuel inlet/screen area. After annealing the copper washers there was still an issue. To solve the problem I’ve changed to fibre (fiber) washers, so far so good.

Cracked it, Carburetor Tales of Disappointment

The A has been running badly of late, especially stalling out at junctions making driving a bit less than enjoyable. The car has a B carburetor fitted on the A manifold which hasn’t been milled out to match the carb (confirmed by measuring) Upon removing and stripping the carb I found that the mounting flange and therefore the carb throat has a crack which has been repaired.

Whilst I had the carb off I gave it a good clean and put it back on for the time being. Surprisingly after resetting the mixture and idle the car runbs and drives well. Decisions to be made on the carb and manifold soon!
