Eddie O’Byrne & The New Ford Car

Eddie and Me Killarney

Eddie and Me

This book printed in 1929 was given to me back in the 70’s by a very nice man from Cork named Eddie O’Byrne an ex-Ford Motor Company worker at the Cork plant. One of my cousins was dating his daughter at the time and we had a mutual interest in cars. He was kind enough to drive us around West Cork & Kerry which he knew like the back of his hand making him a marvellous tour guide. The book is actually about the launch of the Ford Model A and was what kick started my interest in the model all those years ago. Well it took me a long time to get one, but get one I did.
Hopefully Mr O’Byrne had a little smile to himself last Friday.
Thanks Eddie 😉
